Poul Henningsen PH 3.5/2.5 Pendant Lamp in Zinc and Yellow Glass, Patented, Denmark, 1930s

An original and rare PH 3.5/2.5 pendant lamp designed by Poul Henningsen, Denmark, dating from the 1930s, produced under Henningsen’s patented three-shade system.

This early example features a distinctive combination of materials, with a zinc top shade paired with yellow-tinted glass middle and lower shades, creating a warm and atmospheric light. The layered construction ensures soft, glare-free illumination, in line with Henningsen’s pioneering lighting principles.

The use of zinc, combined with the richly toned glass elements and aged metal fittings, gives the lamp a strong material character and authentic patina developed over time. Early PH pendants from this period, especially with uncommon material combinations, are increasingly rare and highly collectible.
