Poul Henningsen PH 2/2 “Snowdrop” Table Lamp in Brass and Bakelite, Denmark, 1930s

A rare and elegant PH 2/2 “Snowdrop” table lamp designed by Poul Henningsen, Denmark, dating from the 1930s, produced under Henningsen’s original patented three-shade system.

This refined example features a polished brass stem and arm, paired with an early brown Bakelite socket housing, both characteristic of pre-war PH production. The lamp is fitted with frosted yellow glass shades, creating a warm and softly diffused light in accordance with Henningsen’s pioneering glare-free lighting principles.

The graceful, curved arm and compact proportions give the “Snowdrop” its distinctive and poetic appearance, combining functional precision with sculptural elegance. Early PH 2/2 table lamps with Bakelite components are increasingly rare and highly sought after by collectors.
