Poul Henningsen PH 4.5/4 Pendant Lamp, Patented, Denmark, 1930s
An original PH 4.5/4 pendant lamp designed by Poul Henningsen, Denmark, dating from the 1930s, produced under Henningsen’s original patented three-shade system.
This early example features browned brass suspension and fittings, combined with patinated zink top shade, and glass under, resulting in a rich and authentic surface character developed through decades of natural aging. The proportions and construction are true to early PH production and demonstrate Henningsen’s precise control of light distribution and glare-free illumination.
PH pendants from the 1930s with original patination are increasingly rare and highly sought after, representing some of the most refined and material-driven versions of Henningsen’s lighting designs.
